Titlepage to volume 1 is engraved; other volume titlepages, which are undated except for the final volume titlepage, in letterpress are in parallel Latin and English: the English beginning with 'To [dedicatee] this [volume number] volume of the Naturalist's miscellany ...' The indexes to volumes 16-23 each have the colophon: 'Printed by B. MʻMillan, ...' The final volume, dated 1813, is an index entitled 'General indexes, in Latin and English, of the subjects contained in the twenty-four volumes of The naturalist's miscellany; ...
