| Item Description: | A later and up-dated reprint of 'The tale of a nettle', which is sometimes attributed to, but is in fact probably not by Jonathan Swift (Foxon). Verse - "A man with expence and infinite toil,". Against offering religious toleration to refugees: the original 'A tale of a nettle' opposed the repeal of the Test Act. Foxon dates this work to 1727 or 1728, on the basis of a span-date noted in MS. on the verso of the Cambridge copy. Reproduction of original from Cambridge University Library. Electronic resource. |
