Item Description:	Contains dedications written by the printer at the beginning of each book and 4 elegiac couplets by Sebastian Brant on the last leaf. "1499. Nihil sine causa: Olpe." Imprint from Goff. Printer's motto on title leaf. Colophon reads: Impressum Basileae opera Ioha[n]nis Bergman de Olpe. xvi. k[a]l[endas]. septe[m]bres. Anno salutis. Mcccclxxxxix. principante diuo Maximiliano cui salus & victoria. Amen. Signatures: a-b⁸ c-s⁴/⁸ t⁶. Chancery quarto, 30 lines, plus headline; area of text: 164 (172) x 106 mm. With a few Greek words in text, printed lombard initials, and some initial spaces, a few with guide-letters; without catchwords. Variants: Leaf a3r, line 2, may read: "Bononie[n]sem" or "Bononise[n]em". Last leaf, lines 13-14, may read "Se/bastinus Brant. salutem ..." or "Se/bastinus salutem ..."--GW. The Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection copy contains the "Bononise[n]em" and "Se/bastinus salutem" variants.
