Title from head of sheet; at one time folded, with panel title on verso. 2 sheets of lined paper detached from a larger ledger book, later laminated into one sheet; handwritten in ink on both sides, with some additional details filled in with pencil; lists names alphabetically, with date elected, promotion rank, enlisted by, by whom, substituted for, and dates transferred, discharged, deserted, killed, wounded, died, plus remarks. “The roster as a report of Comp. C from date of enlistment 10th Oct. 61 to the present date Sept. 15th 64 nearly three years. By John A. Payne.”--Panel. Includes photocopy of a photographic portrait of John A. Payne, veteran of Ross' Brigade.
