Description
Summary:Athletic training professional preparation has undergone tremendous change over the past two decades including the publication of the 4th edition of the Athletic Training Educational Competencies. The 4th edition offers a review of cognitive and psychomotor competencies, along with newly revised comprehensive clinical proficiencies that combine the analysis and synthesis of information with the application of clinical skills in patient-care situations. The clinical proficiencies are designed to prepare future athletic trainers to critically think in a variety of employment settings and ultimately be able to effectively manage patient care situations. Using Progressive Disclosure Problem-Based Learning in Athletic Training Education features a discussion on the process of implementing problem-based learning (PBL) in the classroom. The DVD reviews how PBL can be used to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
