Using famed sociologist Everett Rogers' concept of the ""diffusion of innovations"" to help explain why evidence-based practice (EBP) hasn't gained the noteworthy degree of acceptance in the athletic training profession that it merits, the DVD employs Rogers' paradigm to detail how an idea spreads in society. The DVD then applies that same five-level paradigm to discuss what needs to be done to ingrain the perceived value of EBP in clinical practitioners. The DVD also looks at a commonly accepted theory of how education occurs in the athletic training profession and offers an alternative explanation of how it actually transpires. |
