The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy is inscribed to Theodore Spicer-Simson, "a British sculptor who completed a portrait medallion of de la Mare in 1922." This copy also contains "a tipped-in TLS to Mr. Hawe [sic], who might be W.T.H. Howe, a publisher, collector, and patron of literary arts," as well as W.T.H. Howe's bookplate. -- bookseller's description. The letter is dated 18 April, 1922 and the inscription is dated 16 June, 1922. |
