Fully-searchable, this database is currently composed of five sub-collections. Parts 1 and 2 cover LGBTQ History and Culture since 1940. Part I contains 1.5 million pages of primary sources on social, political, health, and legal issues impacting LGBTQ communities around the world, with over 15 languages represented. Part II offers access to periodicals, newsletters, manuscripts, government records, organizational papers, correspondence, providing coverage of underrepresented communities including often-excluded groups--even within the LGBTQ community. Part 3, Sex and Sexuality, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century, has more than five thousand rare and unique books covering sex, sexuality, and gender issues acros the sciences and throughout history. Part 4, International Perspectives on LGBTQ Activism and Culture, examines diversity in underrepresented areas of the world such as southern Africa and Australia, highlighting cultural and social histories, struggles for rights and freedoms, explorations of sexuality, and organizations and key figures in LGBTQ history. Part 5, L'enfer de la Bibliothèque nationale de France provides access to a private case collection. The contents of this collection are available for text analysis and data mining through Gale's Digital Scholar Lab.
