Preceding calendar are "Notae vulgares" for 1678, a table of the age of the moon every day, and tide tables for the year. Calendar in red and black, with tables for each month listing Dominical Letters, saints' days, phases of the moon, and aspects of the planets; facing page contains observations on news and weather for the month. Additional sections discuss "The dominion of the moon in man's body"; the comet of April 1677, with small woodcut illustration of the comet; and astrological predictions for March 1678 when the sun moves into Aries, with woodcut astrological diagram. Advertisements on pages [47]-[48] for books, elixirs, services, and fairs. Signatures: A-C⁸ [$4 signed]. The Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection copy is bound in gilt-paneled red morocco, with the crowned monogram of Charles II in each corner and horizontal vellum divider strips between each almanac.
