Summary:El-Hadi Diop, a young Senegalese man studying in Paris, finds that his residency permit runs out just six days prior to his exams. Jailed and then threatened with early deportation, he refuses to marry his girlfriend merely for expediency's sake and instead arranges to purchase forged immigration documents, taking a job with a construction crew in order to earn the money to pay for them. However, it isn't long before El-Hadj's plans hit a very serious snag.
