| Item Description: | The Cool World is a feature film about African-American life in the Royal Pythons, a youth gang in Harlem. Adapted from the 1959 novel The Cool World by Warren Miller. In 1994, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The Cushing Library/Area Studies/Africana copy is stamped on verso "Please return material after playdate to Theatre Advertsing Co., 704 New Jersey Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C." The Cushing Library/Area Studies/Africana copy contains a bookseller's description. |
