Description
Item Description:Cover title.
"Dikko Faust found a blurry photo of an 11,000 year old wall painting, excavated in 2007 in Syria's Dja'de al-Mughara site. He realized it was a complex tessellation. The black pattern is the same as the red pattern, and the negative white space echoes that same pattern. Faust began drawing many iterations, then sawing lead and printing versions of the patterns from the pieces. These led to a series of tessalation prints. This books returns to Dja'de --the earliest known wall painting."--Esther K Smith, artistic director.
