Description
Summary:The old west is filled with exciting mysteries, legends and tall tales, and this program introduces us to a number of them. We begin with the strange and unfortunate circumstances of Alfred Packer, an American prospector who in 1886 was accused of cannibalism; a mystery that remains unsolved. Next we travel to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, where we learn the legend of strange web-footed horses that gallop across the huge dunes. We visit Mesa Verde National Park and view the monumental cliff dwellings of the Anasazi, a Native American civilization who abandoned this area at the end of the 13th century. We learn of snow snakes and jackalopes; as well as the ghost of Charlie Eagle Plume.
