Description
Summary:From the moment he launched his eponymous line in 1963, Geoffrey Beene garnered much praise – and more awards and honors than any other American designer – for his sleek, minimalist designs. With an education in medicine, Beene’s knowledge of the body and movement shaped his design aesthetic. He offered women something different: sportswear-influenced clothes with a couture-like cut. Beene abhorred trends and instead, each season built on the last. Geoffrey Beene passed away in September of 2004, but his legacy lives on in the timeless fashions he created.
