| Summary: | Created in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, the house of Chloe projected a bohemian spirit from its very beginning. In 1966 the 28 year-old Karl Lagerfeld became head designer at the luxury pret-a-porter house. He left in 1983 and Martine Sitbon spent 5 years at the helm. Lagerfeld returned in 1992 and stayed on at the house until 1997 keeping Chloe on its cutting edge course. Since then a string of young designers have stepped in to continue the tradition, most notably Stella McCartney and then Phoebe Philo. Her former assistant Hannah McGibbon is now at the helm. |
