Summary:This book is concerned with practical aspects of neuropathology and is aimed at practising general pathologists, forensic pathologists and neuropathologists. The emphasis is on subjects that are not well covered in standard pathology texts. The chapters provide guidelines on the investigation of head injury (including suspected non-accidential injury in children), sudden unexplained death in adults, prion diseases, infections and vascular diseases of the nervous system, CNS lymphomas, dementia, and disorders of nerve and muscle. All of the chapters include guidelines on the conduct of autopsies in these disorders and the book contains an appendix with clear diagrams and advice on the sampling of brain tissue at autopsy.
