Description
Summary:This book is devoted to the difficult problem of transient interaction of deformable bodies with surrounding media. It starts with a presentation of the main dependencies and relationships of the theory of transient interaction of elastic bodies with a continuum. For many cases of spherical bodies in elastic and acoustic media, exact analytical solutions are derived. For the general case, and in contrast to traditional approximate computations, an exact algorithm of inversion of the Laplace transform is presented. Based on the solution of the general problem, solutions for various limiting cases of practical importance are obtained. At the end of the book the penetration of an elastic spherical shell into an ideal compressible fluid is considered and a numerical solution is presented.
