Description
Summary:This is an authoritative update of selected areas in gastrointestinal pathology where significant advances have been achieved within the last decade which are of interest primarily to diagnostic clinical pathologists, but also to clinicians and research workers with an interest in diseases of the alimentary tract. The topics are reviewed by authors with special experience, and usually an international reputation, in the various fields. Most of the contributions relate to the pathology of inflammatory or neoplastic disorders of the gut, and where appropriate there are evaluations of the role of special techniques such as quantitative morphometry and histochemistry. One chapter is devoted to the diagnosis of conditions previously known only as tropical diseases.
