Description
Summary:The Netherlands Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, together with the Ministry of Development Co-operation and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, called an International Conference on Joint Implementation in order to further international discussion on the subject. The outcome of the conference is summarised here. The book highlights such aspects of Joint Implementation as: (1) its conceptual base; (2) the various pros and cons as perceived from Western, Southern and Eastern vantage points; (3) the international policy debate; and (4) the illustrative experience gained to date. The book's many examples show how the JI concept functions in practice and it concludes with an examination of how these experiences enrich the international discussions on the topic.
