Description
Summary:These proceedings will foster a synergistic relation between basic research and the development of applications in the field of high-temperature superconductivity. Recent theoretical and experimental findings are presented; in particular, the existence of intrinsic Josephson junctions and the symmetry of pairing states are discussed using the findings of precision measuring techniques with high-quality single crystals. Advances in the optimization of fabrication processes have been particularly impressive, resulting in large single crystals grown under high oxygen pressure and improved film quality using a new liquid raw material for metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). In addition, superior properties have been discovered using NdBa2Cu3O7 for high-magnetic-field and electronics applications. These improvements in production technology are bound to attract industrial interest in future applications.
