| Abstract: | "This book brings together many of the most important contributions to dynamic and abnormal psychology and organizes them within a framework of concepts of general psychology, developing the concepts according to the data. The book is designed as a text for courses in abnormal psychology; as a supplementary and reference work for courses in personality, educational psychology, social psychology, and related fields, and for advanced workers; and as a survey for independent readers. Technical terms, many of which are used variously in the literature, I try to define according to the best usage; and I introduce new terms and definitions only where they seem needed. Many of the technical terms and their meanings are brought together for comparison in the Introduction to Terms which precedes the Index and Glossary; and practically all the terms are included in the Index and Glossary.
