Description
Summary:"The present monograph is an outgrowth of two separate, but related, programs of research conducted in the Department of Special Education at Syracuse University. One was directed by G. O. Johnson and entitled "Comparative Studies of Some Learning Characteristics in Mentally Retarded and Normal Children of the Same Mental Ages." The other was performed by K. A. Blake, as the principal investigator, with the supervision of William M. Cruickshank, who was the project director. This latter investigation was entitled "A Comparative Study of the Performance of Mentally Handicapped and Intellectually Normal Boys on Selected Tasks Involving Learning and Transfer." These investigations are combined in the monograph according to the following plan: the common problem is defined, the procedure and results of each study are presented as separate units; and then the results of all of the studies are organized and discussed"--Preface.
