Description
Summary:This volume is designed to help the psychologist organize his or her delivery of behavioral health care services as a means of maintaining or regaining control over the therapeutic decision-making process. The goal is for the practitioner to control the decisions that affect client and patient lives. The objective is protection of the therapeutic relationship that exists between the therapist and the client. "Developing an Integrated Delivery System" discusses horizontal integration with other behavioral health practitioners over a geographical area as a means for achieving increased bargaining clout. Vertical integration is also discussed as a means to control the continuum of care, reduce costs, and develop a fully integrated system of care with participation by the psychologist. Along the way, alternative destinations are considered, with a rationale developed for each recommended route. This book is intended for the practitioner who wants to take an active role in designing the delivery system for care as opposed to accepting managed care initiatives designed to control the delivery of care.
