Summary:This volume contains revised papers from the Second International Workshop on Interfaces to Database Systems (IDS94), held at Lancaster University, from 13-15 July 1994. The workshop aimed to develop an interaction between the design of database systems and user interfaces. It covered a range of issues, including data visualisation, applications of computer graphics and virtual reality, formal models of user interfaces, and evaluation methods for designers of database user interfaces. The authors come from a wide variety of research backgrounds, which span both the DBMS and HCI fields.
