| Abstract: | In recent years there has been a resurgence of hopper dredge construction and consequently a renewed interest in the design of such vessels. Principal physical and operational characteristics of this type of dredging plant are described briefly. Certain aspect of their design are discussed with particular reference to proposed regulatory requirements, various features of new hopper dredges recently constructed or presently under construction both for the Government and private dredging contractors, and other current developments. |
