Contributions include papers originally presented in December 1990 at a meeting at the National Institute of Public Health and Environmental Protection in Bilthoven, the Netherlands, convened by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe to discuss the development of a Health and Environment Geographical Information System for the European Region. The contributors form a wide-ranging group of international experts and include leading researchers in the field of health and environment, prominent GIS experts and representatives of government agencies.
