Summary:The NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Plant Hormone Receptors, held in Bad Honnef in August 1986, provided an opportunity for scientists working in this field to present their most recent data and to discuss their results with the most competent of their colleagues. The report contains short reviews and new results of the knowledge on plant hormone recognition by plant cells and on the molecular mechanism of their action. The contributions include: - cytosolic and membrane associated auxin receptors and their possible functions, - auxin transport carriers, - cytokinin binding proteins, - ethylene binding proteins, - gibberellin binding proteins, - fusicoccin binding proteins. The report includes a methodical appendix for the most useful methods, employed in research work within this field.
