Description
Summary:Understanding the molecular processes by which ionic channels are regulated is central to the understanding of cellular function. The book brings together and evaluates new ideas and experimental findings on these regulatory mechanisms. It is organized into three sections. The first deals with the diversity of K+ channels and their regulation, including structure-function and mechanistic studies. The second section covers the molecular understanding of Ca2+ channel function, its regulation and genetic manipulation. The third section treats the regulation of other types of channels, including Na+, Cl-, and If channels.
