Description
Summary:The progress made in the diagnosis of prostate carcinoma with the introduction of transrectal ultrasound (TRUS), PSA determination, and ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy as well as improved operating techniques have led to a considerable increase in the number of radical prostate operations being performed and thus increased the chances of success of curative treatment in many patients. The use of neoadjuvant endocrine therapy before radical prostatectomy is still a matter of debate. It will certainly only be possible to make a final judgement on the basis of long-term observations. This book takes into account that only an international exchange of new findings can create the necessary conditions for improved treatment.
