Summary:Ann Vernon works with a single mother of four who is experiencing guilt about her parenting and anxiety about her ability to support her family. She is in the process of divorcing an abusive husband who refuses to see all but one of the children. She has arranged counseling for her children and takes an active role in their schooling, despite working two jobs and making preparations to return to school. In Session 2, Vernon role plays with the client to help her manage her guilt and develop a more rational self-assessment of her parenting skills. The client asks for help handling her anxiety about dealing with school authorities. Vernon rehearses possible scenarios with the client to help her manage her anxiety.
