Description
Summary:Kirk J. Schneider demonstrates existential-humanistic therapy techniques with a middle-aged African American man in his early 50s who is dissatisfied with his position in life. After being divorced for several years and intermittently unemployed, the client seeks to re-establish his family relationships and career. In this first session, Schneider works with the client to prioritize goals that will help him resolve the financial, career, and family stress that are contributing to his sense of dissatisfaction and lack of accomplishment. By focusing on present feelings, sensations, and associations, client and therapist begin to work through the issues that hinder the client's self-actualization.
