Description
Summary:Dr. David J. Cain continues therapy with a client who is trying to understand her soon to be ex-husband's complete lack of interest in the family. They discuss the past week's stressors surrounding her son's threats regarding her rules regarding his drinking, and her husband's support of their son's negative behavior. Dr. Cain asks her if she discussed her feelings with him, and she says that when she does, he is disinterested. Dr. Cain asks her how she feels about the situation, and she says she has not allowed herself to process any emotion regarding the situation, because she has been too busy holding the family together. Dr. Cain encourages her to try to find some time to herself where she can safely allow herself to feel her feelings, rather than pushing them down. Dr. Cain emphasizes her need to grieve over the lost relationship in order to move on.
