Description
Summary:The client, a 52 year-old woman, has been the primary caregiver for her parents for years. Her father recently died, and she is struggling with the memories of emotional, physical, and verbal abuse by him. Her boyfriend of nine years is emotionally unavailable and verbally abusive in a way that reminds her of her father. The client's primary concerns are finding a way to get her emotional needs met and figuring out how to support herself and her daughter once her mother dies. In this session the client and Dr. Jeremy D. Safran discuss her family background, her relationship with her boyfriend, and examine what love means to her.
