Description
Summary:Mark R. McMinn uses a relational approach to cognitive therapy from a Christian perspective. He helps clients process their thoughts and feelings and develop a plan to deal with conflict in a way that reflects their spiritual beliefs and moral principles. McMinn works with a 21-year-old male client who is struggling with his perfectionism and expectations of himself and his desire to be free to take time for himself. He has recently become frustrated with the demands he places on himself to achieve and with his inability to stop blaming himself and feeling guilty when situtations do not turn out as he thinks they should. McMinn helps him realize that he needs balance in his life and to value rest so that he can keep both his devotion to Christianity as a leader in the church and his need to take time for himself.
