Description
Summary:In this session, Dr. Thomas A. Parham works with a young woman who is experiencing self-doubt about her ability to be effective as a school counselor. She is currently working toward her masters' degree as a result of an epiphany that she wanted to do something to help kids. Parham works with the client to facilitate awareness about the source of the doubt and to assess her passion for her chosen path. The client reveals that she moved around frequently due to her parent's drug addiction and lacked stability, support, and good role models. Parham connects with the client by helping her to clarify her own strengths, draw upon her spiritual beliefs to overcome her doubts, and develop a plan for drawing from her faith to dispel doubts in the future.
