Item Description:	"July 7th '22" "40 St. Lukes Road, W.11" Handwritten in black ink. Concerning the writing of a preface to her husband's posthumous work 'Cloud castle'. Although as he explains in this letter he is "feeling very weak & ill" after his death on August 18th 1922, as the editor notes in 'Cloud castle' (London : Duckworth, 1922) the "fragment was found among his papers after his death, and is now printed as being of interest to the admirers of both these authors" The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy contains a bookseller's description and a typed transcript of the letter. Purchased for the Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell Collection by The Cushing Library.
