Item Description:The Red Baron's war-time memoirs, composed during the pilot's convalescence in the months of September and October, 1917, after having sustained a serious head-wound on July 6th of that year. The work was heavily propagandized and censored by the "Press and Intelligence" section of the Luftstreikrafte, and possibly as a result of which Richthofen later repudiated the arrogant voice of the work but would not survive to compose any other work of its kind.
The Cushing Library/Ragan Military copy is stamped "no.395".
