The centerpiece consists of four panels on two levels depicting the parade of various figures from Chaucer's 'Canterbury tales' such as the Knight, Reeve, the Pardoner, Wife of Bath, and the Friar, all in period dress and on a variety of steeds, on a pilgrimage to visit the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral. The centerpiece was made into a mural for the lobby of the hotel. Hotel with Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales" theme running throughout located at 750 Sutter St. Purchased for the Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection by The Cushing Library. |
