Won San Angelo Paperweight championship in 1949 and Paperweight Championship in Regional Golden Gloves Tournament at San Angelo in 1949. Lost final bout in Regional Golden Gloves Tournament at Odessa in 1950 but won return match with same boy a short time later. At age 11, when this picture was taken, Ronnie was picked as one of the most scientific boxers in these parts. Other athletic achievements: Entered four events in 1950 san Angelo City swim Meet and won all four. He started swimming at age of four." |
