| Item Description: | The Cushing Library/Lowman/Book Design copy includes 5 additional leaves, each wood engraving numbered 5/30 and initialed by the artist in pencil. Consists of title page with wood-engraved printer's device; contents leaf; 8 full-page wood engravings, each numbered sequentially (I-VIII), numbered in edition and signed in pencil by the artist; and colophon leaf with wood-engraved headpiece. Title page, contents leaf and prints I-V are on sheets 35 x 26 cm.; prints VI-VIII and colophon leaf are on sheets 26 x 21 cm. "Engravings II and III in this portfolio were published previously in Selections from 'Sands at Seventy' by Walt Whitman, Bowne & Co., Stationers, at the South Street Seaport Museum, New York CIty. The Empty Nest Press of New City, New York, commissioned engraving VIII. These selected wood engravings by June Paris were printed from the artist's original blocks on Cartiere Enrico Magnani Pescia paper by Woodside Press at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in an edition of 125."--Colophon.
