These original film clips cover a wide range of topics and events of the period, from the fight for civil rights to items on popular culture, music and fashion. Many of the clips feature famous places and people of the period, including Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Mary Quant, The Beatles, Twiggy, Fidel Castro and Mary Whitehouse. Clips added in the Section II update include the Rolling Stones, Marilyn Monroe, Alfred Hitchcock and Elvis Presley, and also footage of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. |
