Description
Summary:Cover illustrations for the May 17, 1823 issue of The mirror of literature, amusement, and instruction, which contained an article on the panoramic view of London created by Thomas Hornor. Hornor made his set of drawings with the aid of an observatory and other apparatus erected on the roof of St. Paul's. The cover illustrations show the observatory on the dome of St. Paul's, a view of St. Paul's overlooking the Thames, and a detailed view of the top stage of the observatory. The panorama was later installed at the Colosseum in Regent's Park.
