Item Description:	Title devised by cataloger. Original dust jacket and slipcase design for 1978 printing of 3 volume set of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, 2nd edition [revised edition on jacket] published Boston : Houghton Mifflin Co., c1965. 2 pieces on Brainbridge Board with pencil markings for dimensions of covers for "The Return of the King" and "The Two Towers", with title, author, logo, etc. glued on, 1 piece has thin glassing paper attached marked up in red ink. In lower bottom corner is initials for approval for design. Stamped on rear "March 9 1978". Also 1 design on Brainbridge Board for the slipcase. The Cushing Library/Science Fiction copy was acquired with a 2nd edition, 3 volume boxed set of The lord of the rings (Boston : Houghton Mifflin Co., 1965). Technical drawing.
