The final numbered page is 65; a letter from the author, dated 20 Nov 1996 (at DK40a), is by way of a statement of errata: there are more samples than originally planned, therefore "the numbering is wrong." Consists of 32 pages of letterpress & 17 leaves of plates bearing mounted samples of marbled paper (most with one per leaf but 3 bear 4 samples each). The Cushing Library/Laughlin Collection copy is signed by the author. It did not come with a copy of the 20 Nov. 1996 letter. "The marbled papers, drawings and text for this book have been made by me in a lapse of many years. The translation is by Els Rademacher and corrected by Sid Berger, California. Ben Jurgens made the layout and the book was printed by Hanzestad, Deventer on paper of Gmund. After this I started binding the books. The pages are stitched on parchment laces. It is a variation on the old Dutch style of binding. Hopefully I will succeed in making enough of these awkward samples to complete one hundred copies of this book."--Colophon. Bound in black boards with leather spine, sewn on 5 red parchment strips. The spine has gilt specks applied randomly; the author and title are printed on a paper label affixed to the spine. The front cover has an enlarged version of one of the ills. from the text along with the title and author. The front and back endpapers are marbled papers.
