Summary:Provides background on P.L. 106-314, the Strengthening Abuse and Neglect Courts Act of 2000, to authorize Department of Justice grants to State and local courts to automate data collection and case-tracking systems for child abuse and neglect cases, reduce backlogs of child abuse and neglect cases, and expand the court-appointed special advocate program for child abuse cases to underserved areas in order to reduce the time abused and neglected children remain in foster care and to promote adoptions.
