| Summary: | Third in a series of CRS annual reports, prepared by Douglas N. Jones and Russell J. Profozich for the Subcom on Intergovernmental Relations and the Subcom on Reports, Accounting, and Management, on electric and gas utility rate increases during the previous year. Presents and analyzes data from State public utility commissions' responses to a subcom questionnaire (text, p. 29-32) on increases in power rates during 1976 due to general rate changes and to operation of automatic fuel adjustment clauses (FAC). Appendices (p. 28-101) include: detailed statistical data, by State, on rate increases granted in 1976 and pending Dec. 1976 under commission review, 1976 revenues realized through FACs, extent of FAC inclusion in basic rates, and FACs rolled into basic rates in 1976 compared to Dec. 1975 (p. 33-97); and factors included in FAC, by State (p. 98-101). Addendum contains additional late response from Delaware Public Service Commission. |
