Summary:Provides brief summary of provisions of the Hatch Act Amendments of 1993, which impose restrictions on the political activities of Government employees, in response to a request by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to examine whether there have been violations of the Act in a scenario where a department head in the executive branch and a White House assistant to the President conducted a meeting/conference within the offices of a Federal department building to inquire of the assembled Federal employees as to how they could promote the success of a particular political party's candidates in the next election.
