Summary:Committee Serial No. 90-34. Considers. H.R. 168, H.R. 169, H.R. 1006, and H.R. 3351, to make lighthouse service pension system comparable to civil service system. H.R. 13366, and S. 2047, to prohibit Coast Guard from applying inspection laws to cannery tender vessels transporting fish, material, and personnel to canneries in Alaska. H.R. 2193 and 10 similar bills, to permit documentation of following ships as U.S. vessels privileged to engage in coastwise trade: Eugene II; Northwind; Ocean Delight; Annie B.; Car-Lo; Marpole; and Cap'n Frank. H.R. 15714, identical H.R. 15950, similar H.R. 15580, and companion S. 3102, to delay the date by which the ship Delta Queen must comply with new safety regulations. H.R. 16127, to increase the maximum number of Coast Guard officers from 4,000 to 5,000. Also reviews FAA's contract with Environmental Science Services Administration (ESSA) to perform airport obstruction surveys, including cost of contract and effect on ESSA's ability to perform other assigned functions on schedule.
