Letter from the Secretary of the Army transmitting a letter from the Chief of Engineers, United States Army, dated August 26, 1952, submitting a report, together with accompanying papers and an illustration, on a review of reports on the Port Aransas-Corpus Christi Waterway, Tex., with a view to determining whether it is advisable at this time, in the interests of national defense and general commerce, to construct a tributary channel, having specifications equal to the main channel, extending northerly from the passing place of the Corpus Christi Channel approximately 6 miles to the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay in the general vicinity of La Quinta to accommodate shipments to the proposed aluminum plant of the Reynolds Metals Co. and to construct a turning basin having specifications adequate to accommodate potential commerce at the northern terminal of said proposed tributary channel, requested by the Committee on Public Works, House of Representatives, adopted February 20, 1951.
