Email Record: Letter from the Secretary of State, on behalf of the Commission created by the Sundry Civil appropriation Act, approved April 28, 1904, reporting that the selection of a site in the district of Columbia for a statue of Thomas Jefferson, and the procuring of plans and designs, has been delayed by the death of the late Secretary Hay, but that the Commission has the consent of Mr. Augustus St. Gaudens to make the designs as soon as engagements permit, which designs will be transmitted to congress without delay thereafter.
